Limbaugh Controversy

You’ve probably heard about the Rush Limbaugh controversy.  But if you only listen to the mainstream media, you have not heard the truth.  Patrick Mead has a great post about it.  I tried to post a quote from it on Mark Elrod’s blog, but he refused to publish my comment.  So here it is:

I wrote on my other blog a few lines about the Rush Limbaugh controversy (see “Don’t Give Away Your Brain”). Regardless of how you feel about Limbaugh — and he can drive me up a wall sometimes — those who are knowingly taking his words out of context and then lying about it are tripping my Gag-O-Meter.

Limbaugh was speaking of men who claimed to be soldiers, claimed to have taken part in atrocities, and claimed to know the dirty secrets of the evil war machine in Iraq… and who were never soldiers at all. Need names? The US Attorney listed some of them just over a week ago (September 21st 2007), calling them “phony soldiers” and describing what they’d done as “stolen valor.” Google Jessie Macbeth, Reggie Buddle, Larry Lewis Porter, Roy J. Scott, Merrick Hershey, Michael Heit, Elvin Swisher, and Carlos Riosvalle for starters. NBC had just done a story on them the Monday before Limbaugh’s comments on Wednesday.

These phony soldiers are heroes on Islamic websites all over the world. Videos of them claiming they were ordered to kill children in mosques and hang them from the rafters, chop off hands and heads (wow — anyone else flashback to Kerry’s lies about Vietnam Vets?), and indiscriminately fire into homes with women and children present are all over Arab media and cited as proof of how evil America is. They are used to recruit new terrorists, new suicide bombers. These liars have caused the deaths of many of our best young men and women. This isn’t just padding a resume; this is lying with deadly consequences.

John Edwards is a Phony…..

…..At least that’s what the editor of South Carolina’s largest newspaper thinks.

Pollution

The worst kind of pollution came our way over the weekend via Al Gore’s Live Earth nonsense. What a waste of time, money, and natural resources. Did you know that the performers flew over 222,623 miles to get there? I’m sure they will claim that they made up for all that with “carbon offsets.” Yeah, we’re all buying that. Just do whatever you want, use all the resources you want, and pay for it later with “carbon offsets.”

I love this quote from Neil McCormick of The London Telegraph:

“”If you wanna save the planet, jump up and down!” urged Madonna. Can global warming be stopped by an out-of-breath, middle-aged, super-rich narcissist in a leotard and high heels?”

Don’t get me wrong — I’m all for doing our part to take care of God’s creation. We recycle, try to reduce energy usage, etc. But I don’t buy into the all the “Global Warming” hype. And events like Live Earth do nothing to help the environment.

The Price is Wrong

 rosie051.jpg

Bob Barker has recommended Rosie O’Donnell as his replacement on The Price is Right.  Can anyone think of a WORSE choice?

Is there anyone who actually likes Rosie?  She is loud, mean, obnoxious, hateful, opinionated, intolerant and unintelligent.*  I think I speak for a lot of people when I wish she would just go away.  I sincerely hope I never have to see her face on TV or hear her terribly annoying voice again.

*I consider anyone who believes in a 9/11 conspiracy to be unintelligent.

Hillary The Socialist

scary-hillary-clinton.jpg

Hillary Clinton finally acknowledged that she is a Socialist. In a speech to the Manchester School of Technology, she said that shared prosperity should replace an ‘On Your Own’ society. She also used the dreaded F-word that liberals love: Fairness. Of course to liberals, ‘Fairness’ means to punish success and achievement and reward laziness and mediocrity.

So basically, Hillary wants us to relive the Carter years!

Even More Liberal Hypocrisy

 edwards.jpg

John Edwards charged $55,000 to speak to college students about poverty.  It is hard to believe, but it is true.  Read about it HERE.

Remember, Edwards is the guy who has said he wants to remove the financial barriers that keep kids from going to college.  Well, John — charging a college $55,000 to give a speech is not helping matters!

Great News

Today the Supreme Court upheld the ban on partial birth abortion that congress had passed and President Bush signed into law.  There is still a long way to go in the battle to save the lives of unborn children, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

The decision was 5-4, which points to the need on the Supreme Court for another justice or two in the mold of Scalia, Thomas, and Roberts.

This also repudiates those who would say that President Bush has done nothing about abortion.

Its Earth Day… Ignore the snow!

Global Warming activists are told to celebrate Earth Day and ignore the snow.  Read about it HERE.

Here’s a quote: “While snow piles up outside our windows, we may be hard-pressed to believe climate change is occurring, global temperatures are rising and the planet is on a crash course of serious change if greenhouse gas emissions are not reduced.

Actually, they should follow the lead of some activists and blame a cold April (or any weather abnormality) on Global Warming.
